Greg Poe Wins Dismissal of Charges Against Former Executive of the Security Firm Formerly Known as Blackwater in High Profile Federal Criminal Case
The Honorable Louise W. Flanagan, a United States District Judge in the Eastern District of North Carolina, granted the firm’s motion to dismiss the counts of an indictment charging the firm’s client, Ana Bundy, with conspiring to commit various federal firearms violations and with obstruction of justice. The ruling is here. Ms. Bundy, the former Vice President for Logistics at the security company formerly known as Blackwater, had been charged in two counts of a multi-count indictment returned against five former officials of the company in April 2010. Judge Flanagan issued the order after extensive briefing and oral argument. Greg Poe argued the case on behalf of Ms. Bundy and had represented her since before the return of the indictment. The case received extensive media coverage over the years. The New York Times, among other publications, reported here on Judge Flanagan’s ruling ("Case Ends Against Former Blackwater Officials").
